The Children’s Integrated Mood and Body (CLIMB) Program recognizes the importance of the mind-body connection by taking a holistic approach to the treatment of depression. Since 2016, the CLIMB Program has offered both mental and physical health assessments through the Outpatient Program in the Department of Psychiatry at SickKids. It is the first of its kind in Canada, focusing on the link between child and adolescent depression and cardiovascular risk later in adulthood.
By participating in our study, patients in the program can contribute to our growing understanding of the link between depression and heart health. More information about this relationship will allow for early identification and prevention of heart disease in people with depression.
