The Children’s Integrated Mood and Body (CLIMB) Program recognizes the importance of the mind-body connection by taking a holistic approach to the treatment of depression. Since 2016, the CLIMB Program has offered both mental and physical health assessments through the Outpatient Program in the Department of Psychiatry at SickKids. It is the first of its kind in Canada, focusing on heart disease in children and adolescents with depression.

Patients in the program can contribute to our growing understanding of depression and heart health by participating in research. More information about this relationship is needed. By learning more about the biology of these disorders, we can examine early signs for identification and prevention of heart disease in people with depression.
